However, his unsettling horror film character was finally unveiled - and fans were left underwhelmed.

Longlegs stars Maika Monroe, 31, as an FBI agent assigned to a mystery about a serial killer named Longlegs, played by Nicolas, 60.
In a video shared by a viewer on TikTok, they shared what Longlegs looks like, as his face was hidden in the trailers to entice people to see the film.
Nicolas looked completely unrecognizable as his character had a ton of makeup and prosthetics on his pale face and sported long unbrushed hair.
'THAT'S IT?'
In the comment section of the clip, viewers didn't shy away from sharing their honest opinions.

One critic wrote, "This movie was not as good for how much hype it got."
"That's it?" a second questioned.
A third echoed, "It wasn't scary at all."
A fourth moviegoer slammed, "Can't believe they really hyped this movie up.

To make people excited about the film, the producers shared what Maika's real reaction was when seeing Nicolas' character for the first time.

The actor said, "I think it's a must-see because I think Oz Perkins is one hell of a director. He's the real deal.
"Maika Monroe is a great actor. I've been following her since It Follows. I was fired up to work with her.

"I think it gave me a chance to do something totally new, which as a film actor, I wanna keep it eclectic and keep challenging myself," he said.
Other than Maika and Nicolas, the movie stars Urban Legend's Alicia Witt, Totally Killer star Kiernan Shipka, and Set It Off actor Blair Underwood.
