Today's Most Awesome Tumblr: 'Arrested Development' Meets Mitt Romney
The juxtaposition of Lucille Bluth and the presidential candidate points to strange parallels between the cult TV show and real life.

Apparently, the amazing Tumblr Lucille and Mitt has been around for some time, but it's only now coming to our attention. The idea is simple: Superimpose actual quotes from Mitt Romney, the teetotaling Republican candidate often accused of being out of touch with ordinary people, over pictures of Lucille Bluth, the vodka-swilling, laughably out-of-touch Arrested Development character. The results are surprisingly convincing.

The Romney campaign and the cult TV show even have characters with the same names. or at least, they both have a personality named "Ann."

There are many more parallels. Both Romney and the show have a devoted core of followers but have struggled to break into mass popularity. Like Michael Bluth, Romney is also constantly contending with his father's legacy. And it's previously been speculated that Mitt Romney, who swims with his shirt on, might be a never-nude.
So one word of advice to the Romney campaign, which apparently isn't quite as flush as everyone thought: There's always money in the banana stand.
