Pensioner, 81, fighting for life after being hit by motorbike in horror hit-and-run crash
A PENSIONER is fighting for life after being hit by a motorbike in a horror hit-and-run crash.
The harrowing incident happened last night on Bathgate Road in Blackburn, West Lothian.
The 81-year-old was using a walking frame and crossing the road around 7.15pm when he was struck.
The bike rider got off the motorcycle and then fled the scene.
Emergency crews rushed to the elderly man's aid.
He was loaded into an ambulance and raced to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Medics say he is currently fighting for life in a critical condition.
Cops have launched an extensive probe into the crash and are hunting down the rider.
Any drivers with information have been urged to come forward.
Traffic cops are also calling on drivers in the area with dashcams to check the footage and come forward.

Inspector Colin Morrison from Road Policing said: “An elderly man has been left critically injured and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the rider of the motorbike.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please get in touch.
"We are also asking motorists with dashcams who were in the area around the time of the incident to check their footage in case they have captured anything of significance.
“Anyone with information can contact us on 101, quoting incident number 3159 of Friday, 12 July, 2024.”
