BACCARA star Mayte Mateos hopes the Tartan Army can Boogie All Night Long to her 70s disco smash — if Spain wins the Euros.
The Spanish singer saw her 1977 international hit become Scotland’s unofficial anthem, going on to reach No3 in one UK singles chart in 2020 when Steve Clarke’s team defeated Serbia in a Euro play-off.
But Mayte believes the Tartan Army will be hitting the high notes again if teen sensation Lamine Yamal and midfield maestro Rodri pull the strings against Gareth Southgate’s men tomorrow.
The 73-year-old says: “It is so good to know that my country will have Scotland on our side as well.
“There has been no doubt that Spain has been the best team.
“The whole of Spain is football crazy — but I know Scotland is crazy for our team as well.”

Yes Sir, I Can Boogie sold 16million copies and topped the charts in ten European countries to become the best-selling single ever by an all-girl group at the time.
The catchy track was first linked to Scottish football in 2015 when a video of Aberdeen and international defender Andy Considine, 34, belting it out in drag with mates during his stag do went viral on social media.
The Scotland team adopted it as an anthem after beating Serbia on penalties in November 2020 to reach their first Euros since 1996.
Following the game Considine, an unused sub, was filmed belting out the tune with ecstatic teammates.

It has since been covered by Goldfrapp, The Fratellis and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
Sadly, Mayte’s singing partner Maria Mendiola died at her home in Madrid in 2021 at the age of 69.
But Mayte is determined to keep the Baccara beat going on her own — with a dream of one day performing it at Hampden before a Scotland match.
She says: “When I saw the Scottish fans and the Scottish players singing my song it stops my heart.
“To hear my voice so clear behind so many thousands of people…it is impossible to explain the feeling.”
She adds: “I would really like to visit Scotland and sing in front of your fans in the national stadium.
“That would be amazing. And I just hope that Scotland starts winning again to give the fans something to sing about.”
As for the score in Berlin, Mayte reckons: “I think 2-1 to Spain — then Scotland fans will really be able to Boogie All Night Long.”
Meanwhile, bookies say the Tartan Army is poised to place ten times as many bets on England losing to Spain as they did on Scotland beating Germany.
One punter is even backing the Three Lions to take a heavier hammering than our 5-1 defeat to the tourney hosts.
