Music legend reveals new Glasgow Hydro date after cancelling last minute

The gig promoter revealed the new date for the rescheduled show

A LEGENDARY 70s and 80s music icon has set a new date for her postponed Glasgow show.

Stevie Nicks, 75, was set to take the stage at the Ovo Hydro last Saturday but the gig was cancelled at the eleventh hour.

The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman was forced to postpone the show due to injury.

The singer had recently hurt her leg which required a minor surgical procedure that required several days of recovery time.

The doors to the venue were due to open five hours before she made the shock cancellation through the Hydro's social media.

Fans of the legendary rock singer had travelled far and wide to attend the unique performance - with many shelling out expensive hotels and transport to Glasgow.

It also meant her performance in Manchester on Tuesday, July 9, was also rescheduled.

But tonight gig promotors Gigs in Scotland have issued a new date for the rescheduled performance.

The rescheduled event will now take place in two weeks time on Wednesday, July 24.

Fans are being advised to hold onto their tickets as they are still valid for the new dates.

A message from the organiser previously read: "Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled performances in Glasgow Saturday July 6 and Manchester Tuesday July 9 have been postponed.

"More information will be available at point of purchase, ticketholders are advised to hold on to their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced soon."

Nicks last played at the venue back in 2015 with her band mates during their Show Must Go On tour.

But she will return to the city as a solo artist.

It comes after the Dreams hitmaker announced that she would headline at BST Hyde Park this summer without her legendary band.

Fleetwood Mac crafted some of music's most recognisable hits from the 1970s and beyond.

As part of the group, Stevie enjoyed success as Fleetwood's songs Landslide, Rhiannon, Little Lies, Go Your Own Way, Hold Me, and Everywhere achieved mainstream popularity.

She also helped the band become one of the best-selling music acts of all time with a whopping 120 million records sold worldwide.
