A speaker was mounted on the front of the bus, a classic painted in the old green-and-yellow Glasgow colour scheme.

Lead singer Fran Healy, 50, leaned from the back of the hop-off exit as he serenaded fans walking through the city.

The frontman waved to shocked fans who stopped to take photos of the band.

The orange-haired chanter waved to fans and they stopped to take in the impromptu show.

Shoppers and staff at a Tesco on Argyle Street rushed out to see the act while the bus waited at a set of traffic lights.

While the bus drove off, Healy said: "Good morning from Travis, good morning, goodbye, see you soon."

The four-wheeled stunt is part of the band's efforts to promote their 10th album, L.A Times, which has a tune called 'Bus'.

Band members Fran Healy, Dougie Payne, Andy Dunlop, and Neil Primrose, will be on board the historic vehicle driving a route from the Science Centre by the River Clyde to the WEST Brewery at Glasgow Green.

Announcing the bus tour, they said: "Here are the bus routes for our Travis double-decker bus this weekend!

"We will be on board the bus on Saturday, driving around Glasgow and busking around the city centre!

"Make sure to come and say hey somewhere along the way."
