ONE shrewd X Factor boyband reject has had the last laugh after raking in £787k-a-day on TikTok.

Mitchell Halliday lost out on his hopes of a recording contract after being sent home during the show's Bootcamp stage in 2016.

He'd auditioned with the group, No Getaway, but their journey came to a devastating end early on in the competition.

Nowadays, though, he runs a makeup brand called Made By Mitchell, which became the first ever UK brand to hit $1 million in sales in one day on TikTok Shop this summer.

Speaking with OK! Magazine, he explained: "If I wasn’t in beauty, I'd like to think that I would be doing something to do with music because pre being a makeup artist, pre Made By Mitchell, I was actually a singer.

"I used to sing on the weekends, everywhere you could imagine, from pubs to working men's clubs,” he continued.

“That is when I decided it was time to do something on my own, without another brand's name attached, and Made By Mitchell was born. Since then, it has taken the world by storm and filled so many gaps in the beauty industry.”

Revealing his plans for the future, Mitchel added: "I want to take the brand worldwide, not just by shopping online, but because I want every person on this planet that loves Made by Mitchell to be able to experience it in a real accessible way."

The brand, which is also stocked in Boots, features affordable products for the face, eyes, lips and skin - with lip glosses starting at £10 and bundles reaching £96.

Mitchell even boasts 1m Instagram follows, with Pixie Lott, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Molly-Mae Hague among them.
