Nearly 30 years ago, John Goodman confidently predicted his future: “Five years from now, the Roseanne show’s gonna be history and I’ll probably be just a trivia question from the late Eighties.”

Yet here he still is, perhaps Hollywood’s best character actor, with one of the most recognisable faces on the big — and small — screen.
