Russell Brand

Russell Brand emerged as a British television personality in the mid-2000s before a meteoric rise to fame that took him to Hollywood. His career was not without controversy. In 2008 he was forced out of the BBC after leaving lewd messages on the phone of Andrew Sachs, the former Fawlty Towers actor. In September 2023, Brand was the subject of an investigation by The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4's Dispatches. It revealed allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse during a seven-year period at the height of his fame, which he strongly denied.
