"Game of Thrones" director Alex Graves -- who directed the famous show 2 weeks ago where Joffrey was poisoned at his own wedding -- is getting divorced ... TMZ has learned.
Graves filed legal docs citing irreconcilable differences in his marriage to Sarah Graves. They were married in 1995 and have 2 kids, a son 15 and a daughter 11.
Alex is asking for joint physical and legal custody. He also wants to split attorney's fees with his wife.
Graves has directed a number of huge shows -- including "West Wing" (where he was also Executive Producer) and "Ally McBeal."
