Anonymous asked:

Is a t-rex a man? Or does it exist in a Schrödinger-esque quantum state of both being and not being a man, given we aren't sure whether it had feathers or not?

according to AMNH.org:

❓️"Paleontologists think feathers may have first evolved to keep dinosaurs warm. But while a young T. rex probably had a thin coat of downy feathers, an adult T. rex would not have needed feathers to stay warm."

As such, the subject of the question cannot be properly classified, as we do not know the age of the t-rex being referred to. They are ✅️ bipeds tho

Yutyrannus huali, the "feathered tyrant" of the tyrannosauridae family that lived during the Early Cretaceous. The three of their fossils, all found in China, are currently the largest known fossils preserving direct evidence of feathers.

I tried my best to make this drawing look realistic, but I don't know if I did well. At first I wanted to make it "snow" coloured, but then decided to go for a warmer palette. The colours were based on African collared and Mourning doves.

Lingwulong

Lingwulong is a dicraeosaurid sauropod dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic of what is now China. It is the earliest-aged neosauropod ever discovered, as well as the only definite diplodocoid from east Asia. Unique traits that distinguish Lingwulong from other diplodocoids include highly elaborated ornamentation along the upper margin of the orbital area and anterior dorsal vertebrae. Unlike most other diplodocoids, which have square-shaped snouts in dorsal view, Lingwulong had a U-shaped snout. Lingwulong could grow to around 20 m in length.
