Bill Cosby has been plagued by scandal for months, and it's at least partly because of Hannibal Buress. Although allegations about Cosby's aggressive and illegal acts against women had been rumored for years, it wasn't until Buress joked about that in his stand-up that the once beloved TV star went from national treasure to the center of an international scandal.

While many have applauded Buress' act for bringing numerous allegations against Cosby to the surface, Buress revealed on Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Livethat he has also received death threats as a result.

A timeline of Bill Cosby's bad behavior

"It's definitely a weird situation. I get a lot of messages from people about it," he said. Thankfully, Buress was able to make light of the situation. "I don't think that's how killers operate," Buress continued. "'Yeah, I'm gonna kill Hannibal Buress. First, I'm gonna go to this coffee shop and buy something so they give me the wifi password. Then I'm sitting down, I'm pulling out my Acer laptop and I'm logging into Facebook. Then I'm searching Hannibal Buress, then I'm spelling Buress correctly, then...'"
