Time to dust off your calendars -- see what we did there? -- because HBO has finally revealed when His Dark Materials will premiere. The series adaptation of Philip Pullman's famed book trilogy of the same name will finally arrive Monday, Nov. 4 at 9/8c on HBO.

The first season will follow 12-year-old Lyra (Dafne Keen), who lives in a parallel universe where human souls take the form of animal companions called dæmons, as she journeys to find her uncle, Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) and her kidnapped friend Roger Parslow (Lewin Lloyd). The series also features Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby and Ruth Wilson as Mrs. Coulter.

Pullman's sweeping fantasy series consists of three books: The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. Executive producer Jack Thorne previously teased that the show's eight-episode first season will largely center on book one but will include "treats" from the later installments, with plans for the subsequent seasons to cover the remaining material. Casting for Season 2 is already well underway.

The first installment to Pullman's book series was previously adapted in 2007's divisive film The Golden Compass, but if fans were wary of seeing the novels get the screen treatment again, the show's promising first trailer should put those concerns to rest.

His Dark Materials will premiere on HBO on Monday, Nov. 4 at 9/8c and will be available on HBOGo, HBONow, HBO On Demand, and more as well.
