Mozart in the Jungleis done after four seasons at Amazon.

The series will not return for Season 5, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's the first big cancellation made by Amazon's new chief Jennifer Salke, who was formerly NBC's President of Entertainment. The move comes as Salke attempts to find the TV landscape's next broad appealing epic like Game of Thrones.

Mozart centered on a group of New York Symphony players and the politics they had to participate in to survive and grow their music careers. It starred Gael Garcia Bernal, Lola Kirke, Malcolm McDowell and Bernadette Peters.

Amazon doesn't release ratings, but the show did garner early support and grabbed two Golden Globes -- one for Best Comedy or Musical Seres and one for Lead Actor in a Comedy or Musical Series for Bernal. Mozart joins One Mississippi, I Love Dickand Jean-Claude Van Johnsonon Amazon's list of 2018 canceled comedies.

"We are so proud of the four seasons we made of this show and are grateful to the cast, crew, fans and Amazon for writing this symphony with us. We hope people will keep finding the show for years to come," said the executive producing team in a joint statement.

All four seasons of Mozart in the Jungle are available to stream on Amazon Prime.
