Incorporate.com is located in Wilmington, Delaware, and was founded in 1899 with the aim of making it easier for businesses to form corporations. The company has rebranded from Corporation Service Company to The Company Corporation and again to its latest incarnation of incorporate.com. To date, it has helped over 750,000 businesses with its LLC services.
According to Amore Philip, CEO and director of Apples and Oranges Public Relations, a PR firm based in New York City, how long a registered agent service provider has been in operation should be an important factor when shopping for a provider.
“Longevity is important because you want a company that has been around with a track record of providing the service rather than a random company that was just founded. It says the company is compliant and is following the laws of business formation. Therefore, they’re trustworthy,” says Philip.

The online tool also provides a historical record of your entity as well as a record of the mail you received. This could be particularly useful if you file in multiple states. That way, you can keep track of when you filed and when updates are due.
While incorporate.com has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), it also received one out of five stars from customers, but this is based on only three reviews. The company’s TrustPilot rating is 3.2 out of five stars, but it currently only has one customer review. Its G2 rating is four out of five stars, but it only has one review there as well.

In terms of alerts and reminders, as well as a written history of your entities, incorporate.com is more comprehensive than LegalZoom. Not only can you view and access your business documents, but you can maintain a calendar of due dates for filings and updates and see statuses of fillings for your business formation.
LegalZoom does offer identity theft protection for up to $1 million, and it might be a better fit if you plan on using its legal services or want an added layer of security. Further, LegalZoom has a 60-day money back guarantee if you’re not happy with its registered agent services. Incorporate.com, however, doesn’t offer a refund of any kind.
