Founded in 2014, ClickFunnels is a drag-and-drop website builder that focuses on maximizing conversions through sales funnels. With a broad selection of customizable design elements, users can create marketable landing pages to promote physical and digital products. Additionally, the company’s all-in-one software model offers tools for customer relationship management (CRM), automated workflows, email marketing and analytics.

Our ClickFunnels review discusses the platform’s pricing, assortment of features and how it compares to other industry providers.

ClickFunnels overview

ClickFunnels is a marketing platform that uses sales funnels to achieve high conversion rates. It’s designed to help entrepreneurs and online businesses generate revenue through an automated sales process from start to finish. The company provides all of the tools necessary to build a website, capture leads, grow a brand, boost customer engagement and drive transactions.

Using ClickFunnels doesn’t require any coding knowledge or advanced technological skills.

ClickFunnels pros and cons

Like any online platform, ClickFunnels comes with its own pros and cons. While it is rich in features, it’s more expensive than many of its competitors. Here’s a closer look at some of the company’s biggest benefits and drawbacks:

Pros

ClickFunnels allows entrepreneurs and business owners to reach a wider target audience with automated marketing workflows. These can be customized to present a more personalized customer experience, increase efficiency and improve sales productivity.

The platform also provides the ability to do A/B testing so users can see which of their marketing campaigns are the most effective. Additionally, ClickFunnels makes it possible to integrate sales funnels with a professional-looking website for streamlined marketing and selling.

Cons

When it comes to pricing, ClickFunnels is one of the pricier options for website builders. Those who need more than one domain, a large number of funnels or API access will have to opt for the company’s higher tier plans, which may not fit into the budget for start-ups or smaller businesses.

Though ClickFunnels is designed to be user-friendly, those who are just starting out in the digital marketing landscape may find the software overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Support is only available through email or live chat during specific hours, meaning customers might have a waiting period before they’re able to receive assistance.

ClickFunnels pricing and value

ClickFunnels has three pricing plans available: Basic, Pro and Funnel Hacker. These can be billed monthly or annually for extra savings. All plans also have a 14-day $1 trial period.

The Basic plan is $147 per month and offers one website, one domain, three admin accounts, 20 funnels and 10,000 contact profiles. It also comes with unlimited landing pages, workflows, product listings, email sequences and online courses. Basic analytics and a CF1 maintenance mode plan are included as well.

The Pro plan costs $197 a month and increases the number of domains to three, admin users to five, funnels to 100 and contact profiles to 25,000. It has all the same features as the Basic plan plus API access and a liquid theme editor.

The Funnel Hacker plan takes a large jump in pricing to $497 per month. It provides the ability to build three websites, have nine domains, link 15 admin accounts, create unlimited funnels and set up 200,000 contact profiles. Along with everything in the previous two plans, Funnel Hacker delivers advanced analytic reporting.

Although it’s an investment, ClickFunnels can provide a great deal of value to those looking for an all-inclusive solution to their digital business needs.

Web editor

ClickFunnels features an intuitive drag-and-drop editor that helps to simplify the process when creating and editing websites, landing pages, blogs or funnels. It has universal section updates, allowing users to make changes on one page and have those changes show up in that section across the entire site. The editor also provides an option for multiple users to collaborate with one another.

E-commerce functionality

ClickFunnels doesn’t have e-commerce functionality as of the writing of this article, but it’s listed on the company’s website as a feature that’s coming soon. The platform will allow businesses to develop an online store and sell physical or digital products with no limits on listings. Users can sell variations of the same item, include sales prices and add order bumps, subscriptions and upsells to generate higher profits.

Customers may also set up Payments.AI, which is a hub for managing all financial activity. This is where businesses can handle an array of tasks such as setting up payment gateways, viewing their transaction history, choosing tax settings and enabling secure payment processing.

Blogging

ClickFunnels plans come with the ability to write, edit and publish content on a blog. This gives businesses the opportunity to share their knowledge with visitors and present themselves as industry experts. Each blog page can be customized using the drag-and-drop ClickFunnels Editor, and articles may be accessible to the public or shared with members only to allow for monetization.

Since the blogging functionality on ClickFunnels is located in the same domain as a user’s website and online store, it has the potential to convert readers into customers. For example, exit pop-ups can be integrated to help produce leads, and targeted emails may go out as a follow-up to those who didn’t make a purchase.

Marketing and SEO

Primarily used as a sales funnel builder, ClickFunnels offers a full suite of tools designed to help entrepreneurs and online businesses optimize their marketing efforts with an immersive customer experience.

With sales funnels, users are able to capture leads from all over the internet and guide traffic to their website for higher conversion rates. The platform also features automated email marketing for cultivating leads and integration with various external tools to further drive reach. Users can manage contacts through a dedicated dashboard, choose from an assortment of pre-made email templates and send out broadcasts.

ClickFunnels is limited when it comes to SEO customization. Every website, landing page and blog post has its own SEO settings. These can be updated with a title, description and image.

Performance and security

One of the main complaints about ClickFunnels Classic was its slow loading times. Since launching the 2.0 version, this no longer seems to be an issue. When compared to similar platforms in a load speed test, ClickFunnels came out on top.

This is due to it being hosted on the world’s biggest public cloud cluster, which is provided by Amazon and backed up by CloudFlare Security + CDN.

ClickFunnels has a security program in place that features various measures meant to protect users’ personal information. The company updates this periodically as needed.

Mobile app

ClickFunnels users can access their account through the ClickFunnels Stats app on both Android and iOS devices. This will let them review how different funnels are performing, track sales and see the number of page visits they’ve received.

Additionally, the app provides a chance to participate in marketing training, view Funnel Hacker TV and listen to the company’s Marketing Secrets podcast.

ClickFunnels is a popular website builder and marketing platform, but before deciding if it’s the right choice for a business, it’s a good idea to see how it compares to the competition.

ClickFunnels vs Strikingly

Whereas the main focus of ClickFunnels is to build sales funnels that will help generate revenue, Strikingly offers a more appealing interface for website creation. This can make it the better choice for users who prioritize having a stunning website or just want a simple e-commerce solution. Neither platform requires web design skills to develop an effective online presence.

With its much lower price points, Strikingly is likely more suitable for individuals who need a personal website or small businesses that don’t depend on digital sales to make a profit. However, those who prefer not to use a number of external tools may appreciate having the ability to run their entire business on an all-in-one platform like ClickFunnels.

ClickFunnels vs WordPress.com

While ClickFunnels provides all the tools necessary for building and marketing a website, it has many pre-made features that don’t give users full control. On the other hand, WordPress.com is designed to be a self-hosted platform with a wide range of tools and plugins for complete customization. This can make it more attractive to creative entrepreneurs who want free reign over their designs.

When it comes to cost, ClickFunnels is the more expensive option. However, it’s mostly ready to use right away, while WordPress.com will require some extra time to get set up or help from someone with a higher level of technical expertise.
