Like most cobranded credit cards, the World of Hyatt Business Card’s highest bonus rates are earned through Hyatt purchases. Cardholders can earn 4 points per $1 on qualified purchases at Hyatt hotels, 2 points per $1 on the top three spend categories each quarter through 12/31/24, then the top two categories each quarter, 2 points per $1 on fitness club and gym memberships and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases.
The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card also earns rewards through adaptive spending categories. Cardholders earn rewards in their top three spending categories each quarter (through 12/31/24, then the top two categories). Eligible spending categories include:
- Airline tickets purchased directly through the airline.
- Car rental agencies.
- Dining.
- Internet, cable and phone services.

The card’s welcome bonus is straightforward — you earn 60,000 points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.
The best value when redeeming Hyatt points is for award nights at Hyatt properties. The hotel brand operates over 1,100 properties worldwide. Redemptions for free award nights start at 3,500 points. Hyatt used dynamic pricing, so awards may require more points depending on the timing and property. Hyatt hotels and resorts fall into eight categories and the higher the hotel category, the more points you’ll need for an award night. You can also book Hyatt stays using a combination of points and cash.
You can redeem Hyatt points in other ways besides hotel stays, but you may not receive the same value. Other redemption options include:
- Dining, spa experiences, and other eligible spending at Hyatt resorts.
- Rental cars.
- FIND experiences.
- Lindblad Expeditions.
- Meeting and event credits at Hyatt properties.
- Convert points to airline miles with partner airlines.
- Share or gift points to other World of Hyatt members.
World of Hyatt Business Card rewards potential
Using government data and other publicly available information, Blueprint estimates that a small business owner in the U.S. that would be in the market for this card has an annual income of $84,352 and $25,087 in expenses they are likely to be able to charge to a credit card.
Assuming our sample small business owner stays exclusively at participating Hyatt properties, we estimate they would spend $868 at Hyatt hotels per year. At 4 points per $1, they would earn 3,472 points.
With $507 spent annually on gym memberships (at 2 points per $1), cardholders would earn 1,014 points. This card also earns 2 points per $1 in the top three spending categories each quarter. Assuming the same top three categories for each quarter, $3,526 on dining would earn 7,052 points, $2,228 spent at gas stations would earn 4,456 points and $1,992 spent on internet, cable, and phone services annually would earn 3,984 points, for a total of 15,492 in top category spending.
The remaining $15,966 in card spending earns 1 point per $1, or 19,978 points. The total potential rewards for the year would be 35,944 points.
For a true value of Hyatt rewards, you would also need to factor in the card’s $199 annual fee and its welcome bonus, assuming you meet the spending requirement necessary to earn it.
