Variety Power of Women Luncheon

Kyle MacLachlan presented Felicity Huffman with an award for her work with the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Her most powerful woman? "My mother. She raised eight children. She valued honesty and she valued joy."

Sarah Paulson was honoree Felicity Huffman's date. Paulson looks up to "Hillary Clinton. It's very unfashionable thing to say but I wanted her to be president."

Jennifer Garner, in peplum-adorned Givenchy, presented Jessica Biel with an award for her work with Charity: Water. "I have known Jess forever," she said on stage. "I know Jessica to be a true girl's girl. She's the kind of girl that will check to make sure you don't have lipstick on your teeth and that your Spanx aren't sticking out. She's got your back." Despite battling bronchitis, her husband Ben Affleck later presented Sue Kroll with an award for her work with Film Independent.

Justin Timberlake stood and whooped as Jessica Biel took the stage on Friday. "Stop it!" she said, laughing. Biel, who wore jungle-printed Gucci, recounted her "life-changing" trip climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for women in need of access to clean water, and closed her speech by saying, "Someone told me recently that the best thing a man can do for a long life is to have a wife. And the best thing a woman can do is to have great girlfriends." (On cue, Timberlake let out another whoop.)

Katherine Heigl ran into a little technical trouble reading her speech off her iPad as she accepted an award for her work for the American Cancer Society. "I didn't think that one through," she said, holding her iPad away from the microphone to stop the buzzing. Later, she grew teary recounting when, at 16, she learned her mother had been diagnosed with cancer. "It was the most petrifying day of my life," she said.

Halle Berry got personal on stage picking up an award for her work with The Jenesse Center. She recounted the discombobulating car accident 12 years ago that left her blacked out and driving away from the scene of the crime. Berry was subsequently sentenced to 300 hours of community service, and said after one day at the Jenessee Center, she told its president, "I know I have to be here right now because I've been arrested...but I will never leave this place. I will take this very embarrassing negative in my life and I will turn it into a positive. Because I know that's why this happened to me...what I realized is that it was God's way, it was the universe's way of telling me, 'You're not doing enough.'"

Stacy Keibler arrived in crisp white Theory dress. The event was partially sponsored by Lifetime Networks, which will host her upcoming 2013 show, 'Supermarket Superstars.'

Paula Patton presented Queen Latifah with an award for her work with the Lancelot H. Owens Scholarship Foundation.

Queen Latifah  shared that shooting Lifetime's 'Steel Magnolias,' she got nervous before a big scene and called the strongest woman in her life: her mother. "My real name is Dana, so she calls me that. Don't run with that," she warned on stage, to laughs. "Only she gets to call me that."

Jennifer Love Hewitt arrived at the luncheon in a sunny yellow dress.
