Usually, car doors are boring. But every now and again, an ambitious carmaker will step outside the norm to create a vehicle that looks like it's ready to fly – literally– with doors that unfurl upwards and rise to the heavens. The novel placement of hinges can make an action that's as mundane as exiting your vehicle feel like the ultimate VIP arrival. From Butterfly and Gull-wing doors to Dihedrals and Suicides doors, here's a selection of cars with non-standard doors, starting with this McLaren F1 Supercar.
