Deal watch: Cruise line puts South Pacific on sale

Paul Gauguin Cruises has kicked off a two-week sale on voyages in the South Pacific.
The small upscale line, which specializes in the region, is slashing rates by $800 or more for select 2013 sailings on the 332-passenger Paul Gauguin if booked by Oct. 27.
The voyages on sale include:
-- Seven-night "Tahiti and the Society Islands" cruises departing on March 2, March 9 and May 4. The March departures now start at $3,695 per person (down from $4,495). The May departure now starts at $3,795 (down from $4,595).
-- 11-night "Cook Islands and Society Islands" cruises departing Jan. 12 and March 16. The January departure now starts at $4,245 (down from $5,195). The March departure now starts at $4,395 (down from $5,395).
-- A 14-night "Marquesas, Tuamotus and Society Islands" cruise departing on Feb. 2. Fares now start at $4,995 (down from $6,245).
