Deal watch: Crystal lowers solo fares on select cruises

Crystal Cruises is offering deals for solo travelers who book select 2013 cruises by Dec. 28.

The two-ship luxury line's new promotion features a reduced "single supplement" of just 10% on nearly a dozen sailings between April and November 2013, including:

— An 18-day voyage from Kobe, Japan to Vancouver, B.C. starting April 12 (solo fares from $6,030).

— A nine-day sailing from Rome to Istanbul starting May 9 (solo fares from $3,670).

— A 12-day trip from New York to Reykjavik, Iceland starting May 23 (solo fares from $4,265).

— A 10-day Stockholm to Copenhagen voyage starting June 25 (solo fares from $5,485).

— A seven-day sailing from Istanbul to Rome starting July 6 (solo fares from $2,865).

Crystal is known for catering to solo travelers with such offerings as Ambassador Hosts on every sailing for those seeking a dance partner and a "Table for 8" program that lets individuals group together for shared meals at specialty restaurants.
