Deal watch: Princess Cruises launches pre-holiday sale

Princess Cruises today kicked off a nine-day sale with reduced rates and on-board credits.

The line's "Season of Savings" promotion encompasses more than 100 sailings to Alaska, Europe, the Caribbean and Hawaii.

As part of the offer, customers booking a balcony cabin or suite will receive an on-board credit of $50 on cruises of up to nine days in length ($100 for sailings of 10 days or longer). Customers booking interior or ocean-view cabins will get a $25 credit on cruises of up to nine days in length ($50 on sailings of 10 days or longer).

A sampling of fares available during the promotion:

-- Seven-night Alaska cruises start at $1,249 per person for a balcony cabin (was $1,449); interior cabins start at $799 (was $949).

-- Fourteen-night Hawaii cruises start at $1,690 per person for a balcony cabin (was $2,690); interior cabins start at $1,090 (was $1,790).

-- Twelve-night Greek Isles cruises start at $2,279 per person for a balcony cabin (was $3,029); interior cabins start at $1,579 (was $2,129).

The sale runs through 11:59 p.m. PST on Dec. 21 and is available to residents of the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
