Santa hands out goodies at London's Heathrow Airport

Laura Bly, USA TODAY
Santa hands out goodies at London's Heathrow Airport: The airport's 'Secret Santa' program, which launched this week at the baggage claim area of Terminal Four, includes random handouts of such high-end goodies as iPads (six of them), Swiss watches and teddy bears.

If you asked the 4.3 million passengers who are expected to shuffle through Europe's busiest airport this month what they really want for Christmas, access to Santa's private sleigh — and his ability to circumvent security lines — undoubtedly would rank higher than mincemeat pies.

But while Santa's sleigh may be out of the question, those traditional munchies aren't, thanks to a three-week giveaway at London's Heathrow. The airport's "Secret Santa" program, which launched this week at the baggage claim area of Terminal Four, includes random handouts of such high-end goodies as iPads (six of them), Swiss watches and teddy bears. Elves will dole out mince pies and 100 bottles of perfume on Friday, Dec. 21, the airport's most hectic day, and the airport also will host carolers, chocolate giveaways, and arts-and-crafts sessions.

For clues to the identity of the daily gift giveaways, check Heathrow's Secret Santa Facebook page.
