Let's face it, the McLaren 12C was already amazing. So how does the famed racing brand do a follow-up?
Now comes a head-turning special edition, the 12C GT Can-Am.
McLaren underscores that the car is "track focused," and is produced by McLaren's racing arm. Street legal? Unlikely, but it barely matters: Only 30 will be made.
The GT Can-Am is meant to pay homage to namesake Bruce McLaren and partner Denny Hulme who raced McLarens in the Can-Am series back in the day.
It will come with a carbon-fiber body and a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 630 horsepower, making it the most powerful McLaren 12C yet. The carbon-fiber wing in back is part of the aerodynamics that improve downforce by 30%.
It will cost about $475,000 and will be available next March.
