Drive On: Dr. Phil's stolen 1957 Chevrolet recovered

Chris Woodyard, USA TODAY
A 1957 Chevy Bel Air that belongs to Dr. Phil McGraw has been recovered.

Dr. Phil is going to be able to tool around in his vintage Chevrolet Bel Air once again now that the car has been recovered from thieves, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The stolen 1957 black Bel-Air, owned by TV host Phil McGraw, showed up this week, the Times quotes the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department as saying.

The $100,000 classic has been gone since August when it was stolen from a Burbank, Calif., repair shop. McGraw told USA TODAY that the dream car was apparently singled out by thieves and he had feared they would try to sneak it out of the country in a shipping container.

Besides Dr. Phil's car, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies also recovered 13 other stolen vehicles.

The Times said suspects had been arrested, according to police. Other than some minor body damage, the Chevy was in good shape.
