The taping of the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta Saturday appeared to go off without a hitch.

Rapper LL Cool J spoke in a tribute to hip-hop manager Chris Lighty, who committed suicide last month behind his Bronx townhouse. Q-Tip, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and 50 Cent took the stage to perform, as did Rick Ross, P. Diddy, 2 Chainz and Future, reports AP.

But backstage, a scuffle erupted between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy and police were called to the scene. TMZ has posted video of the brawl. Global Grind explores the dissing that's been going on between the two.

In a statement issued on Sunday, BET said it "does not condone any type of violence."

The network also announced it will air the show Oct. 9 as planned.
