Two Broadway stars were in the spotlight on Saturday night as they got married.

Audra McDonald, who won her fifth Tony Award earlier this year for her performance in The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, wed Will Swenson, who was most recently seen as Tick in the critically acclaimed production Priscilla Queen of the Desert. McDonald's publicist, Sean Michael Gross, confirmed the wedding.

McDonald spent four seasons playing Dr. Naomi Bennett on ABC's Private Practice. She returned to Broadway in January to play Bess on stage. Her Tony win for that role put McDonald in an elite group of actors, including Julie Harris and Angela Lansbury, who have won five performance awards in Tony history.

Swenson is in rehearsals for Manhattan Theatre Club's rock musical, Murder Ballad, opening Nov. 15.

McDonald, 42, and Swenson, 38, who have children from previous marriages, were engaged on New Year's Day while on vacation in Puerto Rico. They wed at their home in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. The bride wore a wedding dress by Esosa.
