'Peanuts' gang is going to the movies

USATODAY
Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the gang will be in a movie theater near you in 2015.

Even at almost 65 years old, Charlie Brown still looks as youthful as ever.

To help celebrate the 65th anniversary of the debut of the Peanuts characters, created by the late Charles Schulz, Charlie & Co. will be heading to a big screen near you in 2015.

Iconix Brand Group, which is behind the upcoming Peanuts movie, announced today that the film will hit theaters Nov. 25, 2015 and will be based on a screenplay written and produced by Schulz's son Craig.

Director Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) will direct and Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios will share distribution, production and animation duties on the film.

And, it's hard to believe, but 2015 also marks the 50th anniversary of the airing of the classic television special A Charlie Brown Christmas. Wow, that'll make you feel old.
