It's like spotting a rare and beautiful bird in the wild.

Demi Moore emerged from post-rehab hiding to pose for photos in New York on Wednesday night for the GEMS Girls Like Us Benefit Gala. Demi was co-host with Rachel Lloyd, exec director of GEMS, for the party at El Museo Del Barrio.

GEMS (Girls Educational and Mentoring Services), founded in 1998, is devoted to helping sexually exploited and trafficked girls. The event included the reading of excerpts from the February Girls LIke Us memoir of Lloyd, read by stars including Jada Pinkett Smith, Natasha Lyonne and India Arie, reports the Daily Mail.

Moore's ex, Ashton Kutcher, who was just named No. 1 on Forbes' Highest Paid TV Actors list, has been photographed in public kissing his That '70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis. People magazine reports in this week's cover story that Moore, who turns 50 next month, is "jealous and frustrated" by the romance.

Does Moore's appearance at the bash prove that looking good really is the best revenge?
