'X-Factor' rescheduled after baseball interruption

Judges L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and Simon Cowell on Sept. 11 in Los Angeles.

Fans of The X Factor were crying foul Wednesday night when Fox cut the show off before the Top 16 contestants were revealed.

The show opened about 40 minutes after the appointed time on the East Coast, because of a seventh-inning three-hour, 28-minute rain delay in St. Louis for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series with the Giants.

And then, after 10 advancing acts were unveiled (Britney Spears', L.A. Reid's and two of Demi Lovato's acts were picked), Fox went to the end of the game.

Fox says that the conclusion of X Factor will air on Tuesday at 8 p.m., when the entire episode airs, unveiling the four acts picked by each of the four judges.

Tonight, West Coast viewers will get a rerun of last week's Wednesday night X Factor.

Fox also says the remainder of The X Factor schedule remains intact, with the first live episodes airing Nov. 1 (8-10 p.m. ET live/PT tape-delayed) and Nov. 4 (8-10 p.m. ET live-PT tape-delayed).
