Kanye West whisks Kim Kardashian to Rome for birthday

It's going to be a bellissimo birthday for Kim Kardashian.

That's because boyfriend Kanye West had big plans for his girlfriend ahead of her 32nd birthday on Sunday.

"I got whisked away to Rome for a birthday week surprise!" blogged Kim, posting shots of her and Kanye looking happy on the way to dinner at famous eatery Il Bolegnese. She later added a photo of Kanye dozing on her shoulder on Twitter, and also wrote: "Italy is so beautiful!! Best birthday ever!!"

(He did have a lot to live up to. As US Weekly notes, Kim bought him a $750,000 Lamborghini for his birthday in June.)

Thus far, the two have been spotting kissing in the street and shopping in pricey shoe stores. The Daily Mail takes the trip a step further, speculating the two could wind up engaged soon. The paper quotes Kim's pal Ryan Seacrest addressing her Roman holiday on his KIIS radio show, teasing, "I think we could see an update on this show on Monday."
