President Obama gives Jay-Z parenting advice

Andrea Mandell
Jay-Z and Beyonce are first-time parents to baby girl Blue Ivy Carter.

Jay-Z may have 99 problems, but getting parenting advice isn't one.

That's because President Obama recently gave him an earful. During an interview with Cleveland's Z107.9, the Huffington Postreports that a DJ asked Obama if he had passed any parenting gems to the new dad of baby girl Blue Ivy.

"I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out (with the baby)," he said. "And not leaving it all with the mom and mother-in-law."

He had other kind words for the couple, who recently hosted a campaign event for him at Jay-Z's 40/40 club in New York City.

"I've gotten to know these guys over the first several years," he said. "They're good people. They're down to earth. Beyonce could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends. They're really down-to-earth folks. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends."
