Brooklyn native Barry Manilow is headed back to New York City — to stage his first Broadway show in more than 20 years.

The singer/songwriter is set to begin performances of Manilow On Broadway on Jan. 18 at the St. James Theatre. The limited engagement will mark his first appearances on the Great White Way since the spring of 1989, when Barry Manilow at the Gershwin enjoyed a 44-show run.

The new concert series is scheduled for only 17 performances (as of now), but Manilow is clearly looking forward to them. "Growing up in New York, Broadway has always held a special place in my heart," he said in a statement. Manilow on Broadway will run Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., and Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m.
