See Duchess Meghan, Prince Harry and baby Archie's Christmas card. They'll celebrate in Canada

Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and baby Archie are sharing their Christmas card online as they celebrate the holiday in a familiar location this year: Canada.

Late Monday, The Queen's Commonwealth Trust, of which Harry and Meghan are president and vice president, posted a copy of their patrons' Christmas card, which features an adorable GIF of baby Archie looking, with pursed lips, full face into the camera while Harry and Meghan grin behind him under a twinkling Christmas tree.

"Just sharing the sweetest Christmas Card from our President and Vice-President, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Very Merry Christmas, everyone!," the tweet read.

Meanwhile, Harry's office confirmed to the Associated Press that he and his family will be spending “private time” in Canada over the Christmas holidays.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a tweet on Friday.

"Prince Harry, Meghan, and Archie, we’re all wishing you a quiet and blessed stay in Canada," Trudeau wrote. "You’re among friends, and always welcome here."

The Los Angeles-born Meghan made her home in Toronto for seven years while shooting her television series "Suits," and the palace said Harry has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years.

USA TODAY has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.

Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and Archie to spend Christmas with her mom, not the queen

Also on Friday, a video surfaced of Harry speaking at an event for Scotty's Little Soldiers, a British charity for children whose parents have died serving in the armed forces. The duke served 10 years in the British Army, including two tours of duty in Afghanistan.

Harry dressed as Santa Claus (or Father Christmas, as he's known in the U.K.) for his video appearance.

"Your parents, they will never be forgotten and you will never be forgotten," he said. "Have a fantastic Christmas and a happy New Year."

In November, Buckingham Palace confirmed the family of three would miss the annual royal Christmas holiday at Sandringham this year.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month,” the palace said in a statement at the time. “Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.

"This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen," the statement added.

This last sentence may have been in response to media sniping in Britain that the Sussex Christmas plans are "a clear snub to the queen," as Sussex critic Piers Morgan put it on "Good Morning Britain."

In 2012 and 2016, Prince William and Duchess Kate also opted out of the traditional royal holiday gathering at Sandringham. The couple spent Christmas those years with Kate's family at their estate in Bucklebury.
