An emotional Drew Carey paid tribute this weekend to his former fianceĢe Amie Harwick, calling her ā€œa beautiful person who didnā€™t deserve to die like she did.ā€

On the latest episode of his Sirius XM radio show ā€œDrew Careyā€™s Friday Night Freak-Outā€ on Little Stevenā€™s Underground Garage, the comedian sobbed as he remembered his engagement to Harwick, which he described as the ā€œbeautiful, great, best relationship of my life.ā€

ā€œShe was beautiful and fun, and cared deeply about people and improving their lives and was just a joy to be around,ā€ Carey added. ā€œAnd I was so in love with her.ā€

"The Price Is Right" host noted that he might take a couple of weeks off ā€œbecause Iā€™m in really no position to work or entertain anybody right now.ā€

Amie Harwick:Man charged in the death of Drew Carey's ex-fiancee

Harwick, 38, a sex therapist and mental health advocate, was found unresponsive outside her home in Hollywood Hills and was taken to a hospital, where she died Feb. 15. Gareth Pursehouse, her ex-boyfriend, was arrested and charged with murder and first-degree residential burglary after allegedly throwing her over a balcony.

Carey, 61, told listeners that the two remained close, despite the end of their relationship in 2018 (ā€œEven after we broke up, you know, we still loved each other very muchā€) and recalled making a playlist of their favorite songs, which he played Friday. The tracks included the Four Seasonsā€™ ā€œCanā€™t Take My Eyes Off of Youā€ and The Rascalsā€™ ā€œA Girl Like You,ā€ according to Sirius XM.

ā€œWe would sing the words in each otherā€™s ears. We would hold each other and dance in the kitchen to it and slow dance in the bathroom to it, and the office, living room or where we were. And I would hold her and we would hold hands in the car and listen to it and sing to each other,ā€ he said. ā€œAll these songs were so important to us and I want to play them for you, so you can hear how much we loved each other through these songs.ā€

ā€œI could never hear these songs again without thinking of her, so this next set is for Amie Harwick, a beautiful person who didnā€™t deserve to die like she did,ā€ he added.
