Drew Carey pays weepy tribute to Amie Harwick: She 'didn't deserve to die like she did'

An emotional Drew Carey paid tribute this weekend to his former fianceĢe Amie Harwick, calling her āa beautiful person who didnāt deserve to die like she did.ā
On the latest episode of his Sirius XM radio show āDrew Careyās Friday Night Freak-Outā on Little Stevenās Underground Garage, the comedian sobbed as he remembered his engagement to Harwick, which he described as the ābeautiful, great, best relationship of my life.ā
āShe was beautiful and fun, and cared deeply about people and improving their lives and was just a joy to be around,ā Carey added. āAnd I was so in love with her.ā
"The Price Is Right" host noted that he might take a couple of weeks off ābecause Iām in really no position to work or entertain anybody right now.ā
Carey has returned to work on the game show but will take a brief break from his radio show, his representative, Christina Papadopoulos, confirmed to USA TODAY.

Harwick, 38, a sex therapist and mental health advocate, was found unresponsive outside her home in Hollywood Hills and was taken to a hospital, where she died Feb. 15. Gareth Pursehouse, her ex-boyfriend, was arrested and charged with murder and first-degree residential burglary after allegedly throwing her over a balcony.
Carey, 61, told listeners that the two remained close, despite the end of their relationship in 2018 (āEven after we broke up, you know, we still loved each other very muchā) and recalled making a playlist of their favorite songs, which he played Friday. The tracks included the Four Seasonsā āCanāt Take My Eyes Off of Youā and The Rascalsā āA Girl Like You,ā according to Sirius XM.
āWe would sing the words in each otherās ears. We would hold each other and dance in the kitchen to it and slow dance in the bathroom to it, and the office, living room or where we were. And I would hold her and we would hold hands in the car and listen to it and sing to each other,ā he said. āAll these songs were so important to us and I want to play them for you, so you can hear how much we loved each other through these songs.ā
āI could never hear these songs again without thinking of her, so this next set is for Amie Harwick, a beautiful person who didnāt deserve to die like she did,ā he added.
