Prince Harry and Meghan playfully mocked during BAFTAs speeches by Brad Pitt, Rebel Wilson

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan weren't present at the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, but that didn't stop Brad Pitt and Rebel Wilson from referencing them in some quips.

After the "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" actor was named best supporting actor, his co-star Margot Robbie accepted the award on his behalf, announcing Pitt was absent due to "family obligations" and she would instead read a speech he wrote.

The "Birds of Prey" star had fun with it, seemingly paraphrasing Pitt's major points – but leaving in the actor's jabs at the U.K.

"OK, he starts by saying, 'Hey Britain, heard you just became single. Welcome to the club,'" Robbie read. "'Wishing you the best with the divorce settlement,' blah, blah blah."

And even from across the pond, Pitt found a way to take a jab at the royal family.

"He says he's going to name this Harry," Robbie said. "Because he is really excited about bringing it back to the states with him. His words, not mine."

Rebel Wilson kicked off the award ceremony with another jab at the royals.

"It is really great to be here at the Royal Andrew – uh, Royal Harry – no. Royal Phil – um. It's this royal palace place," Wilson jokingly stammered, referencing the BAFTAs venue, Royal Albert Hall, named after Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria.

The royal family was represented at the BAFTAs by Prince William, who was celebrating his 10th anniversary of becoming president of the independent arts charity, and Duchess Kate, who took the red carpet's "dress sustainably" invitation to heart by re-wearing a gown she debuted at a 2012 Malaysia state dinner.
