Janet Jackson is heading back out into Rhythm Nation.
The pop icon announced Monday her 12th studio album and a new world tour, both titled "Black Diamond."
"Black Diamonds are the toughest of all the diamonds, the hardest to cut," Jackson, 53, explained in an Instagram post Monday. "I see that as the hardest to hurt or destroy. There is a lot that I have endured. I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have ruff edges but I keep moving forward. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength."
The tour begins June 24 in Miami with shows scheduled in the US and Canada. European tour dates will be announced at a later date, according to a news release.
Pre-sale begins Tuesday for fans subscribed to her mailing list. General public ticket sales begin Thursday at noon.
