Kim Kardashian drops $25K for Janet Jackson's 'If' video outfit: 'I'm such a fan'

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – It's the perfect birthday present for Janet Jackson.

Kim Kardashian announced on Instagram Stories Sunday, Jackson's 55th birthday, that she purchased the singer's memorable outfit from her 1993 "If" video at an auction. Julien's Auctions announced Saturday that the outfit sold for $25,000. 

"Happy birthday queen!" Kardashian wrote on Instagram, along with a video clip of Jackson wearing the ensemble, a custom-made cropped suede top with artificial bone detailing, along with black lace-up front pants. "For @janetjackson's bday bc I'm such a fan I can't believe I won this on juliens_auctions." 

The "All For You" singer thanked Kardashian in her own Instagram stories, writing, "Thank u so much @kimkardashian! I hope 'IF' gives u as much pleasure as it did me."

Jackson partnered with Julien's Auctions for the auction, called "Iconic Treasures From the Legendary Career and Life of Janet Jackson."  More than 1,000 items from her career and personal treasures were sold after being on display in Beverly Hills and shown on Julien's website through Sunday.

The ensembles she wore in the "Scream" music video opposite of her brother Michael Jackson — a black bubble-textured long-sleeve shirt, black patent leather pants and black patent leather over-the-ankle boots — sold for $125,000 on Saturday.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward Compassion International, an organization that helps children who are experiencing poverty.

Jackson's floor-length metallic silver coat with lambskin shearling lining, cuffs and collar, designed by Helen Storey, was bought for $50,000. Her silver string bikini and a pair of matching pants worn underneath the coat by Jackson sold for $25,600.

On Friday, Jackson's original jacket from her 1990 Rhythm Nation Tour along with a black "1814" cap and black satin gloves with metal plaque decoration was sold for $81,250.

Other items such as Jackson's silver-tone hoop earring suspending a key, worn at the 1987 Soul Train Awards and her Rhythm Nation Tour, sold for $43,750.
