'The Voice' finale: Blake Shelton scores another victory with Season 22 winner
Team Blake proved that young dreams can soar, even on âThe Voice.â
Brayden Lape, the resident heartthrob on coach Blake Sheltonâs team, found himself in the running for the Season 22 crown during Tuesday nightâs finale.
The teen hopeful joined Shelton for a lively performance of âChasin' That Neon Rainbowâ by Alan Jackson.
âI canât thank you enough,â Lape told Shelton in a sweet heart-to-heart later in the show. âIâve grown so much from the blind auditions stage. (I've) grown with my vocals and grown onstage.â
Unfortunately, Lape fell just short of the finish line, as host Carson Daly announced the singer had come in fifth place on the reality competition series.

For Cardona, mentorship from the Grammy-winning singer was the ultimate master class.
âJohn, youâre the coolest dude Iâve ever met,â Cardona told Legend. âItâs been an honor working with you. Youâre such a genius.â

Which Team Blake singer emerged victorious in the finale?
Lape and Cardonaâs eliminations left Team Blakeâs Bryce Leatherwood and bodie, along with Morgan Myles of Team Camila, vying for the coveted grand finale win.
Myles and coach Camila Cabello teamed up for an emotional rendition of Cabelloâs power ballad âNever Be the Same.â
âYou have such an unbelievable talent,â Cabello told Myles. âYouâve moved so many people (whoâve) seen you sing. I just am so proud of you.â
Bodie tapped into his country twang for a joint performance of Sheltonâs âGodâs Country,â while Leatherwood and Shelton delivered rustic magic with a charming cover of Sheltonâs âHillbilly Bone.â
âYou already made it,â Shelton told Leatherwood. âI know my genre, and I know the country music fans out there. Youâve got a career ahead of you, dude.â
Sheltonâs prediction was right on the money, as Leatherwood was announced as the winner of âThe Voice.â
âThe biggest lesson that Iâm going to take away from being coached by the Blake Shelton is be yourself and be who you are,â Leatherwood said.
