Aaron Rodgers gets hit in the eye.

Aaron Rodgers got hit in the face in the third quarter of the Green Bay Packers' 28-27 victory against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and briefly had to come out of the game while team personnel tended to his right eye.

Saints defensive back Malcolm Jenkins swatted at Rodgers in the backfield and slipped his left hand through the quarterback's facemask. He was called for a penalty on the play, but Rodgers wasn't able to immediately return.

Enter Graham Harrell, the second-year player from Texas Tech who was standing under center for the first time in an NFL game.

It didn't go well.

Snapping the ball at the 2-yard line, Harrell tripped on the foot of center Jeff Saturday and fumbled a planned handoff to Cedric Benson. The Saints recovered the ball and four plays later took a 24-21 lead on an 80-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees to Joseph Morgan.

Rodgers' eyesight quickly improved and he was back on the field moments later for Green Bay's next drive.
