Harrison twins set time to announce college choice

Steve Jones, USA TODAY Sports
Andrew Harrison (5) and his brother Aaron will announce their college choice on Thursday, giving Kentucky or Maryland or SMU a powerful one-two backcourt punch.

Five-star twin guards Andrew and Aaron Harrison will announce their college decision on Thursday on ESPNU – a two-in-one, basketball recruiting blockbuster.

The Harrisons, consensus top-five national prospects, will pick a college at 5 p.m. EDT Thursday on ESPNU's "Recruiting Nation" program, ESPN spokeswoman Gracie Blackburn confirmed in an email.

Andrew Harrison posted onTwitter on Monday evening, "Thursday will be the toughest decision I ever had to make but I'm looking forward to it."

They are top targets of Kentucky, Maryland and SMU, with the Wildcats and Terrapins thought to be the front-runners.

Previously the Harrisons have said they'd announce a college choice on Oct. 29 – the day after their 18th birthday – but the recruiting world will get an answer much sooner.

There was talk they would attend "Maryland Madness," on Oct. 12, the first night of practice but that has not been confirmed. Maryland coach Mark Turgeon formerly coached at Texas A&M, not far from their home town of Houston.
