Video: Skateboarder gets taken out by deer

When you are skateboarding at 40-miles an hour the last thing you want to see is an animal crossing the road.

Ryan Vitale, participating in the Buffalo Bill Downhill Race on Lookout Mountain Road in Golden, Colo., was totally blindsided by wildlife.

If that was the NFL somebody would have been fined for helmet to helmet hit.

Vitale, a high school junior in Salt Lake City, got some serious road rash but no broken bones. The deer was unharmed.

"I didn't know it was coming at me. It just all happened really fast," Vitale told 7NEWS reporter Jaclyn Allen.

The video (shot via helmet-cam) comes with some strong expletives at the very end.
