Ukrainian soccer fan invades field, attacks linesman

USATODAY
A fan attacked a lineman on the field during a soccer match in Ukraine.

Consider the fan on the field. He or she is an often-tolerated and occasionally-celebrated part of the live sporting event. Usually, the fan on the field is harmless, hopefully clothed.

This situation is different.

A soccer match in Ukraine was uninterrupted over the weekend when a fan got onto the pitch and attacked a linesman, putting the official in a choke-hold.

More from Yahoo's Dirty Tackle:

When the police jumped on the purple-shirted lunatic, he seemed to calm down and almost immediately surrendered as Chernomorets players tried to talk him down. The officers were even nice enough to give him his hat back, but when he decided he was tired of being manhandled, he started to resist and it ended up taking five guys to keep him restrained. They finally got him into the tunnel so the match could carry on.

So, to review:
*Bad idea: Strangle a referee on the field of play.
*Better idea: Peacefully invade the pitch, then get on with your day.
*Best idea: Stay in your seat, watch the game, don't strangle anyone, go home.
