The camera Usain Bolt playfully took from a photographer and used to snap pictures of teammate Yohan Blake after winning the 200 meters at the London Olympics is up for auction.

Bidding for the Nikon D4 camera has already passed $7,000 for the eBay sale, which is set to end Oct. 9. The auction was set up by Jimmy Wixtröm, the Swedish photographer whose camera Bolt took in the moments after the race.

Bolt snapped a number of photographs of Blake and the horde of photographers assembled at Olympic Stadium.

Later on, he etched his name into the top of the camera with a screwdriver.

The exchange between Bolt and Wixtrom wasn't as spontaneous as it may have seemed. The Swede admitted it was his idea for Bolt to take the camera. The two had done the same routine at other meets and the Swedish photographer was eager for it to happen on the world's biggest stage.

"Every time he sees me, he says, 'Usain, take a picture, Usain, take a picture.' So I gave a promise," Bolt told reporters at the Games.

Wixtrom says proceeds from the sale will go toward the Swedish Cancer Society and Bolt's Jamaican charity.
