Stanford wins 'No one is at our game' award for Week 6

USATODAY
Small crowd today at Stanford Stadium on Oct. 6.

Miami is on the road this week, leaving the door open for someone else to claim the No One Is At Our Football Game throne in Week 6.

Oh hello, Stanford.

Pac-12 Network's Ashley Adamson delivered the photo evidence of what she politely dubbed a "late-arriving crowd" for Stanford's 3 p.m. ET date with Arizona.

Now, I would never accuse Stanford fans of being fair-weather supporters. No, I would just point out that the Cardinal tumbled nine spots, from nine to 18, in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll last week after falling to Washington, 17-13 and now no one is at the game. These are just things that happened.

UPDATE: A couple voices I want to give space to in this post are below:

* George Schroeder, USA TODAY Sports: "Private school with small fan base."

*Jeff Herrington, commenter: "Livermore, California Giants playoff game, a's playoff game on TV, SF fleet week, north beach Columbus festival, blues thing in SF. Other than that, the last 5 people in the bay area will be at Stanford"

Fair points, both. But still!
