Cris Collinsworth exactly predicted the end of the Chargers-Saints game (VIDEO)

New Orleans Saints defensive end Martez Wilson (95) strips the ball away from San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers (17) during the fourth quarter of a game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Television commentators tend to stay away from in-game predictions. When you say "I think the Chargers are going to win the game" and then the Saints win three hours later, few remember, nor care, about the incorrect guess.

When a commentator says "I think the Chargers will run here" and Philip Rivers drops back to pass 15 seconds later, the viewer can't help but notice the mistake. There's no good reason to go out on that limb and that's why commentary often comes down to a flurry of "that guys," "look heres" and "National Football Leagues."

NBC analyst Cris Collinsworth hedged a little after he saw New Orleans Saints defensive end Martez Wilson come around the edge to put pressure on Rivers late in Sunday night's game, but he saw enough to know that San Diego Chargers tackle Jared Gaither didn't look right. That's when he made his prescient prediction:

That was so good Collinsworth deserves a reward of some kind. Sean Payton was in the building; I'm sure he can make it happen.
