Status of Robert Griffin III concern to gamblers

USATODAY
Robert Griffin III suffered a concussion on Sunday and his status for this weekend's game against Minnesota is still up in the air.

Sometimes it is hard to put a value on an athlete. But it turns out this week the number on Washington's starting quarterback is 1 ½.

That seems to be the difference between Robert Griffin III or Kirk Cousins lining up against the Vikings on Sunday.

Covers.com has Washington a 2 ½ point home favorite under the assumption that Griffin will start after suffering a concussion against Atlanta.

If he doesn't play, Mike Perry of Sportsbook.ag says Griffin is worth a 1.5 point swing in the spread. Cousins is expected to start over Rex Grossman if Griffin is ruled out.

"The number will definitely change," said Art Aronson of Covers.com. "However, because of the strength of their running game they should still be able to move the ball without Griffin."

How much depends on how heavy you want to approach the windows.

Minnesota is a bit of a bettor's favorite recently. They were underdogs in their wins against San Francisco and Detroit and last week beat Tennessee 30-7 as a six-point favorite.
