Texas backup QB takes out official (GIF)

The less said of Texas' defense the better.

For this group, the lone bright spot in an otherwise dismal afternoon against Oklahoma came early in the second half, when the Longhorns' Carrington Byndom returned a Landry Jones interception 28 yards for a touchdown.

(UT would then go on to miss the extra point, which seems fitting.)

Tackling has been an issue all season for Texas' defense, which many – like yours truly, for example – believed to be the best in the Big 12.

Missed tackles. Blown assignments. Ugliness. Yes, it's been horrific.

The best tackle by a Longhorn likely came on the sidelines, of all places, where backup quarterback Case McCoy took out an official racing to keep pace with Oklahoma fullback Trey Millard's 73-yard reception.

McCoy's takedown, while impressive, drew a personal foul penalty. It's been that kind of day for the Longhorns.
