LaDainian Tomlinson says Jets 'starting not to trust' Mark Sanchez

LaDainian Tomlinson rarely was short on candor during his playing days, and he's continuing to tell it like it is as he transitions to his second career in the media.

Sunday on NFL Network, LT provided a new window into the last locker room he was a part of, reporting that the confidence New York Jets players have in starting quarterback Mark Sanchez is wavering.

"He is almost at the end of his rope. Talking to guys in the Jets locker room, they are starting not to trust Sanchez as a football player; turning the football over, inconsistent play. They have to get better play from the quarterback position," Tomlinson said.

"They are going to give Sanchez two or three more starts to try to turn this team around, then they are going to go with Tim Tebow."

Is Tomlinson getting accurate info? We'll find out soon enough, though the last time he referenced this group, it wasn't in glowing terms.

"It is as bad as I've ever been around, honestly," he said of the team's chemistry on Showtime's Inside the NFL shortly after the Jets' disappointing 8-8 finish in 2011. "And I've been around some locker rooms and quarterback-receiver situations and what-not. But it was as bad as I've been around."

He added of Sanchez, long before Tebow's arrival: "He is not a lazy guy. He puts in the time after practice in the film room. He can get it done. He just has to have pieces around him to help him get it done."

Given the Jets' injury issues this season, it's pretty easy to argue Sanchez isn't working with many helpful assets on offense.
