Cam Newton offers 'suggestion box' to help improve play (VIDEO)

Chris Strauss, USA TODAY Sports
Cam Newton planned to make changes following the Carolina Panthers bye week. That didn't seem to happen.

A bye week full of haunted houses, go-kart racing and other fun activities didn't seem to provide Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton much of a respite from the horror that has been the team's season thus far.

With his team dropping to 1-5 after putting up only 14 points on the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, Newton seemed at his wit's end during a postgame press conference when trying to figure out how to kickstart Carolina's dormant offense. Unlike teammate DeAngelo Williams, who looked to Twitter for guidance, Newton appealed to the gathered press corps for help.

"I'm going to bring in a suggestion box. And I want your suggestions in that suggestion box, because I sure don't know. I really don't," Newton told the group.

Expect plenty of new playcalls with the names of desired press box meals to appear in the Panthers playbook by next week's game at Chicago.
